healthcare is the biggest scam in the world. there’s no reason for this stupid industry to be as massive as it is.
i prefer to write it first and then highlight what’s important in a powerpoint slide 🤢.

ethics + self care in 2023.
we’re gonna go from the premise that this is not me, certainly not i, but someone in a similar position who lives with severe anxiety and has to work because capitalism.
this person who isn’t me believes in three principles when it comes to social work practice, which, in my not so very humble opinion, applies to the work that we do as behavioral health practitioners, to keep a barrier between the self the client.
uno: do no harm.
dos: nothing is ever urgent until it is.
three: every paycheck deserves a celebration.
we’re doing assessments phq9- gad-7, have you done them on yourselves?
feeling nervous, anxious or on edge?
not at all, several days, more than half the days, nearly everyday?
worrying too much about different things?
feeling down, depressed or hopeless?
should we discuss the news?
we’re all going through a lot. some out loud, others in silence.
what to do about it? well, it ends and starts with you. actually, community but we’re focusing on the self right now.

the hell we’re in dictates that our feelings should be pathologized.
be human. keep an emotion wheel wherever you do work. after every interaction, take a minute. start at the center and work your way out. write it down. where do you feel it? when did it come up? is action necessary?
